1. Check that your supply arrangement is allowed
eBay says dropshipping is allowed when you fulfil orders directly from a wholesale supplier. Listing an item and then buying it from another retailer or marketplace to ship to your buyer is not allowed. You remain responsible for safe delivery within the timeframe in your listing and for buyer satisfaction.
2. Vet the product and supplier before listing
- Confirm that you are permitted to resell the item and use the supplied product information and images.
- Check current availability, variant options, dispatch location, delivery estimates, tracking and the supplier’s returns process.
- Avoid restricted, unsafe, counterfeit or rights-infringing products. Keep records of supplier terms and product checks.

3. Build an accurate eBay listing
Write a specific title that names the product and its real attributes. Add only relevant item specifics, describe the exact item and condition, and use clear images you have permission to use. Do not promise features, dispatch times or materials that you have not verified.
4. Work out the full unit economics
Before setting a price, include supplier cost, delivery, marketplace fees, payment costs, currency conversion, taxes where applicable, refunds and a realistic allowance for problems. Check the result at the price a buyer will actually pay; a markup alone is not the same as profit.
5. Monitor availability and handle orders promptly
- Recheck supplier stock and price regularly, and pause or revise a listing when the item cannot be supplied on the terms promised.
- Use conservative stock settings when supplier quantities are uncertain.
- Provide tracking when available, answer buyer messages, and resolve delays or returns in line with your eBay policies.

Common questions
Can I dropship on eBay?
eBay allows fulfilment directly from a wholesale supplier. Buying from another retailer or marketplace after you make a sale and sending it to the buyer is not allowed under eBay’s policy.
Who is responsible if a dropshipped order is late?
The eBay seller remains responsible for delivery within the stated listing timeframe and for the buyer’s satisfaction, even when a supplier ships the parcel.
Does dropshipping guarantee profit or search ranking?
No. Profit depends on costs, demand, competition, service and other factors. A workflow tool cannot guarantee sales, impressions or search placement.
